SHELTER
Solo exhibition at The Grey Place in Grey Lynn, Auckland, November 2017.

Shelter is a word that embraces safety, physical and emotional. These works have clear references to architecture and urbanism. Concepts surrounding shelter, homelessness and also false security run into ideas of shelter being a safe emotional space. As well as being a physical comfort, shelter speaks of healing,  a safe space to recover; a space to reflect and ponder. Each of us has a different truth, a different view, a different take on even the same experience. Most of us have scars.
