Susan Thomas is an Auckland painter. She was raised in Wellington and has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions. She has works in many private and corporate collections including the Wallace Arts Trust, ANZ, Caltex  and the NZ Wool Board.

Her paintings are abstract and based on themes of life experiences, human needs, coping mechanisms, behaviour, communication and truth.

"My work appears, in retrospect, to be partially autobiographical. It tends to follow my life experiences and the issues I am facing or interested in at the time I make the work. I don't always recognise this until later on. The themes evolve and build on one another, fading in and out of view as they do in life. "
